Who and what these standards cover

These standards apply to profiles, photos, surveys, messages, calls, dates, support interactions, and conduct connected to a The Vow introduction, including relevant off-platform conduct. They form part of the Terms of Service.

The Vow Code

  1. One-person focus. I will not maintain parallel romantic options while provisionally locked or in an active Focused Match. I will end one connection respectfully before seeking another through The Vow.
  2. Honesty. I will be truthful about my identity, age, photos, location, relationship status, availability, intentions, and material facts another person reasonably needs to make an informed choice.
  3. Consent and boundaries. Interest, matching, messaging, video, and meeting are invitations, never obligations. I will respect a no, a pause, a block, and a request to stop contact.
  4. Respectful communication and closure. I will communicate without humiliation, manipulation, harassment, threats, or pressure. If I choose to end a connection, I will use clear and respectful closure unless safety requires no contact.
  5. Safety and accountability. I will protect privacy, use report and block tools in good faith, and cooperate with proportionate safety review. Verification reduces risk but is not a guarantee.

Prohibited conduct and content

Do not use The Vow to create, upload, send, request, encourage, or facilitate:

  • Minors or age deception: any dating or sexual interaction involving a person under 18, or content that sexualises or exploits a minor.
  • Impersonation and deception: fake identities, stolen or materially misleading photos, relationship-status deception, catfishing, account sharing, or evading a restriction.
  • Harassment and abuse: bullying, repeated unwanted contact, stalking, intimidation, threats, humiliation, blackmail, coercive control, or encouraging self-harm or violence.
  • Hate and dehumanisation: attacks, exclusion, or degrading content based on protected or vulnerable characteristics. Compatibility preferences do not permit abuse.
  • Sexual coercion or exploitation: pressure for sex, images, calls, money, or off-platform contact; non-consensual sexual content; image-based sexual abuse; trafficking; or exploitation.
  • Explicit content: pornography, public nudity, graphic sexual content, or using the service primarily to exchange sexual material.
  • Scams and financial solicitation: romance scams, requests for money or financial credentials, investment or crypto schemes, gambling promotion, sugar-dating arrangements, paid companionship, gifts as a condition of contact, or deceptive fundraising.
  • Commercial or political solicitation: advertising, recruiting, mass messaging, affiliate links, petitions, or campaigning unrelated to a genuine personal dating purpose.
  • Privacy violations: doxxing, sharing private messages or images without permission, covert call recording, exposing contact, location, or financial data, or encouraging surveillance.
  • Illegal or dangerous activity: illegal goods or services, weapons trafficking, exploitation, credible threats, or instructions intended to cause harm.
  • Platform manipulation: scraping, bots, spam, duplicate accounts, account trading, bypassing locks, false reports, payment-state tampering, or abusing appeals.
  • Intellectual-property violations: content you do not have the right to use.

Child sexual abuse and exploitation: zero tolerance

The Vow strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This includes grooming, sexualising, coercing, trafficking, or sextorting a child, and creating, requesting, uploading, storing, sharing, distributing, or facilitating material that depicts or promotes the sexual abuse or exploitation of anyone under 18.

Every dating account is for an adult aged 18 or over. Report a child-safety concern through the nearest in-app report control or the safety contact in the operator block below. Once we obtain actual knowledge of apparent CSAM, we restrict access, remove it from member-facing systems, preserve or disclose evidence only as lawfully required, and report confirmed CSAM to the competent child-safety or law-enforcement authority when applicable law requires it. Do not download, forward, or investigate suspected material yourself. If a child may be in immediate danger, contact 112 or the relevant local emergency service.

Photos and profiles

Use recent, recognisable photos of yourself. Do not use a child as your primary photo, post another person without permission, obscure who you are across all photos, or use contact or payment details as profile content. Keep statements about other people private and lawful.

Reporting and blocking

Report a profile, message, video-date issue, or safety concern through the nearest report control. Block when you want to prevent further contact. Reports are confidential to the extent reasonably possible, but we may need to disclose limited information to investigate or comply with law.

For immediate danger, contact emergency services. In Poland and the EU, call 112. The Vow cannot dispatch emergency assistance.

Moderation and enforcement

We may use server-side rules to detect obvious spam, prohibited links, threats, or other high-risk patterns, followed by proportionate human review. We may reject or quarantine content, warn, limit features, require reverification, close a match, suspend, or ban an account. Serious conduct may be referred to competent authorities when lawful and necessary.

We consider context, severity, evidence, repetition, risk, and the safety of affected people. A report alone is not automatic proof. We do not publish a public trust score.

Reasons and appeal

Where required and safe, we tell an affected member what rule was applied, what action was taken, how long it lasts, and how to request free human review. A different authorised reviewer should decide the appeal where practical.

We may limit details to protect a reporting person, prevent retaliation, preserve evidence, secure the service, or comply with law. Use in-app support or the public Contact page to start an appeal.
